Horse Moteling
While picking up two ponies from a friend in New Orleans, I needed to overnight my ponies at two points in the trip. It was really difficult to find a facility that didn't require me to drive additional miles out of my way. Even a few miles seemed endless when my total trip was over 1000 miles. And I really disliked having to put my ponies in a small stall after they'd just spent so many hours confined in the trailer. So, when we bought this farm just minutes from I-94, I had individual paddocks and lean-tos built so I could offer the occassional traveler a convenient spot to overnight their horses.
Ponies
My love for ponies started as a small child, but never went away. Even after I owned horses, I've always also owned ponies. When my young children became old enough to ride, my ponies finally had a purpose. I trained them first to drive, then to ride. As each pony was outgrown, there was so much interest in my children's outgrown ponies, I decide to buy, breed and train a few a year so other children could enjoy the ponies as much as my kids. I'm doing less of this now, but I still have a few quality ponies for sale (and a couple of foals on the way.)
